Cascades at Estero is an active adult community located in Lee County, Florida. This gated community is one of very few age-restricted neighborhoods available in Estero, which makes it highly desirable. Living in this area is perfect for adults aged 55 or better who prefer a smaller town atmosphere. Cascades at Estero also has easy access to I-75 and offers nearby shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

There are 614 homes in this active adult neighborhood, making it one of the smaller 55+ communities in Southwest Florida. However, for a small community, Cascades at Estero has a very spacious clubhouse with a superb lineup of indoor and outdoor amenities. This resort-style community is surrounded by plenty of golf courses that residents can enjoy on their own time.

Cascades at Estero Amenities

The spectacular 28,000 square-foot clubhouse acts as the heart of the community. It has a state-of-the-art fitness center, aerobics room and sauna to help active adults stay healthy and fit. A unique heated indoor/outdoor pool combination is another great way to stay in shape. The media room contains computer stations, a library, and television. Residents can join a variety of fun indoor games in the billiards room or in one of the two card rooms. Active adults can get creative with arts and crafts projects in the hobby room that has two kilns. The Grand Ballroom features a stage and dance floor for large parties and events that are sure to entertain homeowners.

Outdoors, the pool area includes a spa and sundeck for the ultimate in relaxation. Residents can also get together for friendly games of bocce ball on the two courts available, play Pickleball on the newly installed courts or hold some competitions on any of the six lighted Har-Tru tennis courts. There is a pro shop for those looking to get new gear for their favorite sport. The neighborhood also has plenty of walking and biking trails, covered verandas, scenic lakes and access to a second satellite pool on the western end of the community.

Cascades at Estero Homes & Real Estate

Construction of this age-restricted community started in 2002 and was completed in 2007 by Levitt & Sons. This 55+ neighborhood is comprised of 614 single-family homes, designed to accommodate between 1,525 and 2,536 square feet of living space. Residences are available on a resale-only basis and association dues are reasonable that include use of the clubhouse, staffed gatehouse, water and sprinkler system for all properties, and streetlights throughout the community.

These single-family homes come in a variety of options, such as two to three bedrooms, two or three bathrooms, and an attached two-car garage. State-of-the-art alarm systems also come with all residences. Many homes include covered lanais or scenic views of nature or lakes.  The association fees are $1,180 per quarter and there is a transfer fee of $2,500 due for every new buyer along with a $150 HOA application fee.  There is no guard at the entrance.  Visitor access is gained by contacting the owner from the call box located on the left side as you drive up the entrance road.  

Cascades at Estero Lifestyle

With a country club atmosphere, residents don't have to worry about paying maintenance fees for a golf course. Residents enjoy a huge clubhouse with amenities one would expect to see in a larger community. A full-time activities director is also on-hand to assist with scheduling and planning of events and classes. Some of the existing clubs residents can join are tennis, pickleball, aerobics, Mah Jongg, canasta, poker, crocheting, pinochle, Pilates, bridge, quilting, and euchre. The community also has a monthly newsletter and its own TV channel that keeps residents informed with community updates.

Area

This 55+ community is conveniently located off I-75 with easy access to Fort Myers and Naples. However, Estero has some attractions as well. Some of these are the Koreshan State Historic Site, Germain Arena, and Bowditch Point Regional Park. Lee County offers 50 miles of beautiful beaches, scenic wildlife preserves, and award-winning state parks. The Lee County Sports Complex Hammond Stadium is a great place to catch baseball games and view Major League Baseball stars during spring training. Active adults flock to this active adult community in Southwest Florida because of the resort-type amenities and beautiful single-family home.
